C++ on Sea is an international C++ conference taking place by the sea, in the UK. Our venue is in Folkestone, Kent, near the entrance to the channel tunnel with stunning views across the English Channel.

New for 2024: we're running two pre-conference workshop days, as well as our usual three-day main conference. And we're back to four tracks!

Welcoming Bloomberg as our Platinum sponsor for 2024

20th March 2024 at 18:01

As we gear up for our 2024 event we're pleased to say that Bloomberg are already onboard as our Platinum sponsor!

If you're looking for your next move Bloomberg are always looking out for talented C++ developers to join them.

Let's hear from them in their own words:

Bloomberg is building the world's most trusted information network for financial professionals. Our 9,000+ engineers are dedicated to advancing and building new systems for the Bloomberg Terminal and other products to solve complex, real-world problems.

C++ is one of our core programming languages. We are constantly pushing the language to its limits because our code needs to be scalable, reliable, and extremely fast — especially since every microsecond counts in the finance industry. Our C++ experts build everything from low-level libraries and components to some of the most performant financial applications, analytics, and trading systems in the world. They also contribute to the C++ Standards Committee (WG21). Learn more at TechAtBloomberg.com/cplusplus.

Location

C++ on Sea is hosted at the Leas Cliff Hall in Folkestone in Kent, UK, overlooking the English Channel. This historic seaside town is also home to the channel tunnel and, as such, has excellent links to the rest of europe. It's also very accessible from London with the UK's (currently) only high speed link, the HS1. For more comprehensive travel information, see the page, Getting to C++ on Sea

The Leas Cliff Hall is a working theater that also has a dedicated conference suite. Built into the cliffs, and with floor-to-ceiling glass overlooking the sea on three sides, the views are spectacular!

The venue is about a 15 minute walk from Folkestone Central station, or ten minutes walk to the bustling town centre. As well as the modern town the old quarter, home to art galleries, curio shops and bohemian cafes and restaurants, extends down to the picturesque harbour.

Although the venue is split across three floors, connected via staircases, it is also fully accessible via elevator.
